Hi, we are Ginny and Jason Collins, the recipe creators behind the grilling and smoking here at Kitchen Laughter! Welcome to our outdoor kitchen where we spend most of our time cranking out the best recipes to tease our neighbors with the aroma of grilled steak and ribs. With over 30 years behind a grill with a pair of tongs in hand, we share the tips, tricks and recipes that are true family favorites for the backyard griller in you.
About Kitchen Laughter
Kitchen Laughter started as family hobby to share our family’s grilling and smoking recipes. We started taking photos and putting up on the internet in 2018 and it’s grown faster than we thought but we’ve kept the core of the website the same.
The name Kitchen Laughter came as the kitchen is the busiest room in our house – by far! It is where our family spends the most time, and is always filled with laughter and fun. We wanted to share our family favorite grilling and smoking recipes with you and help you create fun memories while spending time in your kitchen, indoors or out.

Our yummy recipes have been featured in Fox News, Yahoo News, Parade and Kansas Living Magazine.
What You’ll Find on Kitchen Laughter
The only thing you are going to find here are recipes we have created and love. Our biggest issue is we always say “you’re going to love this recipe!” The reason is, we won’t put out a recipe that isn’t a family favorite and one that we feel proud to share.
We create, taste test and photograph all of our own recipes. Yeah, some of them look awesome and some of them look like a 7 year old took them. But they’re mine and the food is scrumptious.
Jason: I am an accountant with a big 4 accounting firm by day and a Chief Griller by night and weekends. I am the recipe developer, taste tester and photographer behind Kitchen Laughter. I started grilling on a small gas grill in 1992, right after Ginny and I got married (yes, over 30 years). We always owned grills – gas, propane and finally moved up to the ceramic Big Green Egg in 2008.
When I’m not grilling on the weekends I love to hike, bike, scuba dive, camp and travel.
Outside of grilling, I am constantly juggling my dreams of retirement and my PTO days with challenges of fishing from a kayak.
My current grilling line up in the outdoor kitchen is my Big Green Egg, Coleman Portable and Blackstone Griddle.
Ginny: I am a mom, a wife, an entrepreneur, and designated Chief Fun Officer!
Besides creating simple and easy recipes on my recipe blog, www.savorandsavvy.com and my cleaning blog, www.cutthegrime.com, my other passion is to travel. My family teases me, as I will spend months in the planning process to find the off-the-beaten-path activities and sites to visit. My goal is to find the coolest places to visit for the least amount of cost.
Spencer: I am a graduate student and work full time in Washington DC. I’m also the Chief Taste Tester of my parents grilling shenanigans. I love grill days. They prep, cook and clean and I eat. Nothing is better than that!
In order to fulfill my dreams and addiction to Google Flights, I do most of the backend technical work for our family’s 4 websites and shop. I dream of traveling the world and visiting as many different airports as I can. The longer the flight or stops, the better. I don’t understand why people don’t love flying as I could live in an airport. When I’m not dreaming of my next destination, I love to sail, hike, bike, camp, scuba dive and rock climb. The more I’m outside, the better.
