Instructions
Instant Pot Artichokes
Prepare the artichokes by using kitchen shears to trim the points off of the largest leaves
Use a sharp kitchen knife to cut off ½" of the top of the artichoke
Cut the artichokes in half, lengthwise
Liberally coat the cuts with lemon juice from your cut lemon. This will minimize the "browning" effect.
Add one cup of water to the instant pot and set it to "manual" for 6 minutes
Prepare the Marinade
Combine Olive Oil, Basil and Sage in a small bowl.
Prepare the Artichokes for the Grill
Remove the artichokes from the Instant Pot using tongs (they will be HOT!)
Use a spoon to carefully remove the inner-most leaves and the fuzzy center
Brush the marinade on the artichokes. This will minimize the chance of it sticking to the grill
Grill the Artichokes
Set up the grill for direct heat at 350 degrees
Place the artichokes face-down on the grill
Grill for about four minutes and remove. That is enough time to develop a nice sear.
Notes
The Instant Pot cooked the artichoke. The grill is adding the nice flavor and creating a delicious sear on the cut face of the artichoke.
