Like I mentioned in the Grilled Bananas post last week we are on a huge fruit kick in our house and it is far from over! Spencer is trying to make fruit shakes like the ones we had in Thailand and Jason and I are trying to find the perfect mango. Since we are still on the hunt, we grilled some more fruit and adored how well these Grilled Peaches with Honey Goat Cheese and Roasted Pecans turned out! Not only are they gorgeous, they tasted incredible!
If you need to seriously impress the heck out of someone with a dessert, this is the recipe for you! The combination of the sweetness of the peaches, the sweet/tang combo of the goat cheese, and the salty roasted pecans is one of those recipes that plays tricks in your mouth! Deliciousness, I tell you!!!
We have a love of goat cheese, as you can tell from how often we use it. You can easily replace it with feta if you prefer! Adding the little bit of honey really tames the tang of the cheese down while adding just a smidge of sweetness without overpowering it. I tried several versions and this is the one we settled on but feel free to add a little bit more if you like.
How to Roast Pecans
Mix 1 cup of pecans with 2 tbsp of melted butter and place in a small cast iron pan. If you don’t have a cast iron, you could easily use the throw away pans you get at the dollar store.
I brought the Big Green Egg to 350 degrees and placed the cast iron skillet in the center of the grill. If you are using the GrillGrates, make sure you remove it.
I stirred the pecans every two minutes to stop them from burning and removed them after about 10 minutes. After they cool, they will have a fantastic, buttery and salty taste to them. Oh so good!
How to Grill Peaches
Keep the grill at 350 degrees. I placed the GrillGrate on the grating and let it come up to temperature. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pit.
Brush olive oil on the cut face of the peach and the GrillGrate to prevent sticking.
Place the peaches, cut side down, on the grill and set the timer for four minutes.
Flip the peaches over and cook for another four minutes. It is time to remove them and let them cool.
Grilled Peaches, Honey Goat Cheese and Roasted Pecans
While the peaches are cooling, mix the honey and goat cheese together. Scoop a little bit of the mixture and put in the middle of the peach. Top it off with the roasted pecans.
Tip: Don’t cut the peaches until right before you are going to put on the grill. They are sensitive to the air and will brown up too quickly for you!

Grilled Peaches with Honey Goat Cheese and Roasted Pecans
- 4 peaches
- 2 tbs olive oil separated
- 3 tbs goat cheese substitute feta, if you prefer
- 1/2 tsp honey
- 1 cup pecans
- Preheat grill to 350 degrees. In a bowl, mix goat cheese and honey together and set aside. Once the grill is brought up to temperature, cut the peaches in half and remove the pit. Don't cut early as they will brown. Brush on the 1 tbs olive oil to the peaches and place on the grill. Grill for 4 minutes each side and remove from grill to set aside. Once the peaches are complete, toss 1 tbs of olive oil with the cup of pecans and place in a small cast iron pan or disposable pan. Stir every 2 minutes or so and watch for doneness which should take about 10 minutes. Place peach on a plate, scoop a small tablespoon of goat cheese mixture into the center and sprinkle with the roasted pecans. Drizzle with additional honey, if you like.
